• Blue Solutions, a subsidiary of Bolloré Group and a leading industrial industrial solid-state battery designer and manufacturer, has signed an agreement (MoU) with Foxconn Technology Group and its subsidiary SolidEdge Solution Inc. to jointly develop a solid-state battery ecosystem for the electric two-wheel vehicle market. Under the agreement, Blue Solutions and Foxconn will combine their expertise, technology, and resources to develop and produce two-wheel vehicle batteries. Specifically, they will use Blue Solutions' advanced Gen4 technology and SolidEdge Solution materials to equip two-wheel vehicles and serve the market. The variable battery systems developed by the agreement may also be applicable to other EVs. The collaboration between Blue Solutions and Foxconn initially focuses on the Indonesian market. According to McKinsey, the global two-wheel vehicle market will reach approximately $21.8 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.7%, driven by the growth of electric motorcycles. The Indonesian government's ultimate goal is to reach 1.3 million units of electric motorcycles by 2030, but this number is still a small portion of the total target. As a pioneer in solid-state batteries, Blue Solutions has a broad background dating back to the 1980s. Since 2011, it has been the only solid-state battery, module, and battery producer in the world, with production lines in France and Canada. To date, Bolloré Group has invested 3 billion euros in Blue Solutions and its business unit, and has delivered over 3 million battery units to the market. SolidEdge Solution, a subsidiary of Foxconn子公司, was established in 2021 and is a forerunner in solid-state battery research in Taiwan. The innovative work aims to develop universal materials for each main component of the battery unit.
